Raoul Pal, founder and CEO of Real Vision, gave a fascinating look at the upcoming “altcoin season” in a recent video on Savvy Finance. With many coins set to significantly outperform, 2025 could be a breakthrough year for altcoins, according to Pal.
While exploring technical analysis and market behavior, Pal vividly describes the prospects and risks facing crypto investors.
Altcoin season and the “banana zone”
Pal describes the crypto market as approaching what he calls a “banana zone” – a time characterized by exponential movements and heightened speculative activity. At this stage, altcoins they often show more significant gains in a short period of time than more established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

It highlights the possible dramatic upsides of wedge patterns found in coins such as Solana, Ethereum and XRP.
“These wedge patterns are some of the strongest formations in the crypto world,” Pal said. He particularly emphasized Solana’s breakthrough and continuous consolidation, hinting at another significant rise by the end of the year. Likewise, Ethereum is almost breaking out of a wedge pattern, indicating that a significant rally is in the offing.
Solana, Sui and Dogecoin: Key Drivers of the Altcoin Era
Pal emphasizes the power of Solana and Suiboth of which he predicts will outperform other cryptocurrencies. Citing its head-and-shoulders breakout inverse pattern and long-term potential, he calls Sui the “chosen one” for this cycle.
Pal is also bullish on Dogecoin, which he considers a pillar of the “banana zone” due to its recurring rounds of consolidation and explosive expansion.
Dogecoin, with its meme status and massive appeal, has consistently exceeded expectations. Pal pointedly noted, “If the charts hold, Dogecoin may even suggest that it is a better currency than Bitcoin – a claim we cannot ignore!”
Additionally, developments in the Web3 ecosystem were discussed, particularly on Walrus Protocolincluding Sui Blockchain. Using a delegated proof-of-stake method, Walrus provides a decentralized solution for storing massive amounts of data in combination with the Sui blockchain.
“Walrus is not only vital to Sui but to the entire Web3 space,” he said, emphasizing its ability to transform data management for decentralized applications.
Walrus is a reasonably affordable replacement for traditional cloud services as it can handle dynamic websites and large amounts of data. A pillar of blockchain technology in the future, developers can easily incorporate it into applications.
Strategic Investment Tips to Manage Altcoin Volatility
For those negotiating this volatile market, Pal advises a calculated capital allocation. It advocates focusing on well-known protocols such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, while devoting a smaller portion to high-potential risky tokens such as Sui.
“Excessive diversification often leads to underperformance,” he warned, advising investors to concentrate their investments on fewer assets with good fundamentals.
