American meetings with student visas India: application fee and necessary documents!


On May 05, 2025, the US Embassy Office in India announced on X that thousands of meetings with student visas were available to Indian students. Indian students who have been accepted to US schools or universities should take this opportunity and book their slot to attend an interview with visas.

The slot was available with thinking about the completion of the procedure before the academic year began for students enrolled at US universities and schools. Students must book their visa meeting slot if they were accepted to the US university and received a form I-20

The embassy took this step, seeing high demand of American education among Indian students. From past records, the enthusiasm of Indian students in the United States is high, because last year more than a hundred thousand students received a student visa.

Required documents

Indian students who want to apply for the appointment of a student visa in the US should prepare the following documents:

  • A valid passport.
  • Form I-20, when you are accepted to American school or university, you will receive a Form I-20 from a school or university that will confirm your eligibility for the status of students who are not immigrants.
  • DS-160 Confirmation Page
  • Visation Certificate of Payment Certificate
  • Certificate of compensation fee
  • Passport photos
  • Financial documents proving that you have enough resources to manage life and education in the US.
  • Academic results and transcripts
  • Standardized test results

How to book?

The student visa for the F or M is offered by the US government, where F student visa is intended to attend university, college, private elementary schools, seminarians, secondary schools or other academic institutions, while M Student Visa is intended to attend vocational or non-Deadem institutions with exception of linguistic training.

Indian students who know what type of visa to choose and complete the visa application should pay their visual fees before booking the meeting in the following steps:

  • You should visit the US travel website
  • Then select the non-Imigrant visa option and come to Step 4 if you have made all the steps above.
  • Then click the schedule of scheduling at step 4 at the “Visa Login Center” that is closest to you.
  • After that, click the link to schedule a meeting for a student visa.
  • Then select a date and location for a student visa meeting.

Important Note:

  • Indian students should know that they should book an ICL appointment on two business days before the date of the meeting.
  • Students should carefully book the meeting because the delay options are limited without punishment.
  • You may need to delay the meeting if your DS-160 page is not correct and you will need to bring the page at a meeting if you send the DS-160 application after the meeting.

Fee

Indian students have to pay a visa for a visa before booking a student visa meeting. Visa application fee is not return, and if the visa has been approved, you may also need to pay the issuance fee.

According to the guidelines of the United States for a student visa, applicants must pay the following fixed fees:

  • $ 185 for a student visa f or m
  • Sevis charges $ 350
  • Visa issuing fees depend on nationality.

Important instructions

Indian students should follow the general instructions published by the US Embassy of India when applying for a student visa in the United States:

  • You should not include third agents or any other organization, and they should fully trust in the US Embassy channels for a student visa application and booking a meeting.
  • The embassy invited the students who received the I-20 form or received the mail or a letter of acceptance to quickly fulfill the application and book their seats for meetings.

  • Students are advised to read instructions for student visa and other guidelines and regulations for Student F and M Vis when they apply.
