The deadline to submit the Cash App Security Settlement Class action claim form is just a few days away. Customers affected by the Cash App who wanted to be compensated from the $15 million settlement fund can check the details of the settlement from claim form submission to payout here.
Plaintiffs Raymel Washington, Amanda Gordon and Michelle Salinas filed two lawsuits against Cash App Investing and Block Inc., which were later replaced by a class action. Plaintiffs allege that the defendant neglected Cash App Investing employees who accessed account information in 2022, and a third accessed the account with recycled phone numbers associated with Cash App accounts in 2023.
The plaintiffs allege that the defendant failed and neglected its obligations to take appropriate actions to prevent unauthorized access and use of Cash App investments and Cash App accounts, and to resolve the user’s complaint about the fraudulent transfer of money.
In a recent update to the Cash App Security Settlement, the court extended certain settlement deadlines, so class members mark the following date on their calendars to exercise their rights in time:

Pursuant to the Cash App settlement, Block and Cash App Investing will deposit a $15 million settlement fund, which will be used first to pay attorneys’ fees and costs, awards for class representative services, settlement administration costs and pre-distribution costs among class members.

Important Note: If you have more than one Cash App account, you need to submit only one claim form related to all the accounts and mention their details in the form.
As we previously mentioned, the District Court for the Northern District of California has extended the final hearing to approve the Cash App Security settlement until January 13, 2025, and distribution of compensation will only begin after the hearing.
The court will assess the fairness and reasonableness of the settlement and approve the allocation of costs and fees. Eligible claimants can expect settlement fund distribution within 90 to 180 days of final settlement approval based on the payment method they have chosen.
Applicants who have selected electronic payment methods will receive their payment earlier, so applicants are advised to choose the online payment method instead of paper checks.
The Cash App Security settlement form submission deadline is only three days, a non-filing class member should submit the form immediately to receive compensation of up to $2,500 for out-of-pocket loss, transaction loss or time loss due to negligence of Cash App investment and block Inch. to protect user account information.
