The Ireland Government increased the social welfare fees in the budget of 2025, which has been in force since January 2025. The Social Protection Department has been processed by this increase in social welfare payments, which can add thousands more to the pocket of Irish people.

Incentive of social well -being
In the 2025 budget, the Irish government gave the Department of Social Protection of EUR 2.6 billion for social assistance. The government has increased the weekly rate of social welfare from many benefits, such as paternity fees, uses parents, benefit for motherhood and the benefit of up to 15 euros.
The second week of social welfare payment is increased by 12 euros with a proportional increase in qualified individuals. Beginning on March 1, 2025, the maximum rate of social welfare payment for all persons who meet the conditions and those with lower rates increased.

Change payment date
Payment Date for April 2025 can be changed for some recipients due to the Easter Bank holidays on April 21, 2025, so that Irish recipients of social welfare payment whose payment is scheduled for the coming on Monday may expect their payment earlier on April 18, 2025 (Friday).
Bank holidays may affect your social welfare day, so you should mark the following 2025 Bank holidays in order to expect payment earlier:

Citizens should also know that the fuel surcharge fee runs from September to April, hence the addition for 2024, completed on April 04, 2025, and now the new addition will start from September 2025.
New initiative
The government announced a new initiative in the 2025 budget for families with a newborn baby. According to this initiative, the Government will offer up to 280 euros to families with a new child or a child adopted after 01 December 2024 and when they meet the conditions for children from birth.
The government has taken this step to support new parents with the growing cost of raising a child and ensuring that the child is healthy and nourished. If the family blessed the twins, they will receive support for every child.
The new baby scholarship will be processed for a family that fulfills the conditions with the payment of children in the first month. Families will receive children’s benefits up to 140 euros per child in 2025, no change in the amount of payment in 2024.
