If an individual is a resident of the United States and currently has or previously had a Verizon postpaid wireless plan, then they can receive a maximum of $100.00 as a Verizon settlement payment via paper check or direct deposit into their bank account.
The settlement payment distribution process has already started from January 6, 2025. In order to receive the settlement amount on time, interested individuals should meet the eligibility requirements and submit a valid claim form before the claim deadline of April 15, 2024.
The settlement states that Verizon collected an administrative fee, as well as an administrative fee and a Telco service recovery fee (both administrative fees) on a monthly basis from those Verizon customers in the United States who purchased postpaid wireless plans from them.
The customer also stated that this type of monthly fee is unfair and not clearly disclosed. Verizon denied all charges but agreed to pay a maximum of $100 million in settlement funds. The Verizon settlement has already received final court approval on April 26, 2024.
After the appeal process began after the appeal was filed on May 4, 2024, the additional appeal was withdrawn on September 20, 2024. Now, the settlement payment distribution process began on January 6, 2025, and all eligible individuals are expected to receive settlement funds within a few days.
To receive the Verizon settlement payment amount, individuals must meet the eligibility requirements below.
Verizon officials agreed to pay a maximum of $100 million to resolve the charges in the settlement. The settlement funds will be used to pay attorneys’ fees or costs, the class representative’s fees, the costs of notice and administration of the settlement, and the payment of settlement funds to qualified individuals.
Individuals who submitted a claim form before the April 15, 2024 application deadline can receive up to $100.00 directly into their bank account or via check in the mail.
Eligible individuals may receive an initial minimum amount of $15 to be issued to each applicant’s account, and an additional $1 per month to their account held for collection and payment of an administrative fee and/or an administrative fee and telecommunications service recovery fee in the settlement class period.
It is important to know that Verizon’s exact settlement amount will vary or may be less than expected. The exact amount of the settlement payment depends on how long the claimants have been Verizon subscribers and how many individuals have submitted claim forms for this settlement.
The settlement payment amount is distributed through the payment receipt method selected by the eligible individual when submitting a valid claim form for this settlement.
Available methods of receiving settlement funds are via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Virtual Prepaid Card and via physical checks in the mail. The method of receiving settlement funds by physical check is slower than the method of depositing settlement funds by direct deposit and often faces unexpected delays.
It is advised that when you submit your Verizon settlement claim form, you select a method of receiving direct deposit settlement funds or, if you have previously submitted a form, you can arrange your settlement payment method by visiting the official website.
