Winter fuel payment is a unique payment without taxation in the UK, which helps pensioners who fulfill the conditions for the scheme in the settlement of additional costs during the winter maintenance period of their homes.

• You qualify if you have not been to the hospital for more than one year or have not been in prison during the qualifying week.

The amount of winter fuel payment you get depends on your age and where you live:

• Winter fuel payment is a one -time tax -free payment that helps you cover the higher heating costs of your home during the cooler part of the year. The amount received depends on the age of the person:
  • 65 to 79 years: £ 300
  • 80 years or more: £ 400
• Additional payments can sometimes get another payment:
