Moments before he presented “Aida” in “Aida” at the Metropolitan last night, Angel Angel Soprano was in his room, smiling and blowing kisses to fans.
Blue, who sings the title role in “Aida”, was emotional, telling his followers that he thought that in the evening, Sylvester, who died in 2006 and , as a musician, carefully added to his interest in Opera. He said he was singing for her, for his fans and for himself.
“I pray and hope that your dreams come true,” he said. “What you desire is at the tips of your fingers, if you will believe it. I know that I believe it, and I believed it. And I realize all my dreams now by singing, singing this grand opera.”
Blue, 40, a former model and queen from Apple Valley, Calif.
But it is not broken at the level of world leadership, including the meeting, which new “Aida” production of “Aida” will be a simulast in the world cinema around the world. In this opera, he found a definite role. The manga was praised by critics for its shimmning sound and the intensity of its images, and it won over colleagues in the opera field.
“It’s very complicated, and it’s capable of infinite beauty and order,” says Star Soprano Renée Fleming. “He’s also a musical musician, with presence and energy.”
To prepare for Aida, a role that requires a large and varied voice, he spent months immersed in the score. Sometimes, during long days in the practice room, he would turn off the picture piano and throw the music around the room in frustration.
For many years, Blue was opposed to “Aida”, a love story against the war between ancient Egypt and Ethiopia, because of its demands and emotions. But he took the role -aka in 2022, with Detroit Opera, then in 2023 with the Royal Opera in London.
When we met, he said, he felt very satisfied at last. “This is my home,” he said of the home. “Amazingly, it bothered him that it wasn’t true. And it also confirmed it.”
Michael Mayer, the director of “Aida,” said that the manga was critical to create a sense of intimacy, and that he showed an “unprecedented” kindness in his role.
“You feel like you’re just really strong,” she said. “It’s good to see how he interacts with his character, and he’s secretly beautiful and emotional.”
Growing up in California, blues music was blues. His father, a pastor, sang gospel and was a church organist, and his mother played the piano. She heard opera when her parents took her to hear “Turandot” in Cleveland when she was 4 years old. He was interested, he told his parents: “She is a woman in the light”: the singer He saw onstage.
Blue’s father speculated that he would follow in the footsteps of Soprano Leontene. He began to give his voice at the age of 6, and he began to act at the age of 10. He entered the Los Angeles County School for the Arts, and spent four hours a day in cars and trains.
However, he is not sure if he can become a professional singer. In college, to help pay her tuition, she started modeling and participated in many pageants. (In the talent division of the Miss California pageant, she sang “Semper Libera” from “La Traviata,” dedicating her career to her father.)
After college, he studied with Condition Zubin Mehta and others. But he had trouble getting the money back, he got a lot of rejection letters.
“Injured,” he said. “I feel depressed. I don’t think I’m crazy.”
He told himself that if he couldn’t live with the race in six months, he would quit. Then, in 2013, she got her break when the English National Opera in London hired her to sing musetta in “La bohème.” Soon he invited auditions at Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, the Royal in London and meetings in New York.
The blues became a regular at the meeting, performing performances including “Turandot,” the fire “Terence Blanchard” is locked in my bones” and the Gershwins’ “Porhwins'” which received an award for the best recording.
Peter Gelb, the general manager of the meeting, said that he expects the blue to be the biggest presence. He has been helpful, and “made his mark as one of the great aids of our time.”
In “Aida,” Blue says she found a willing spirit: a strong woman willing to fight for her dignity. However, his view of the character has changed over time.
He said:
Although Blue has a global career, she does not feel like the “woman in the light” that her parents saw her as a child.
“I want to keep going,” he said. “I never want to think, ‘I did that, that’s good enough.’ There’s always something.”
Before each section, the blue hits the power – hand on the ball – for about two minutes, to make sure that his sternum will be raised. Then he repeated a verse from the Bible, Philippians 4:13, which says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He often calls his mother, sister or wife before going onstage.
During the performance of “Aida” he thinks of his father, who died of diabetes in 66, including the Aria “O Patria Mia,” which increases the loss of his country.
“We are all in danger in our lives; Everyone has something to lose,” he said. “Through music we can connect this loss, and begin to see a new world.”
