BBC Scotland HQ evacuated after fire breaks out


Fire could be seen in the windows on the upper floor as staff were shown from the building

Crew Fews has won the dawn blue on the glass of Scotland’s headquarters in Glasgow.

Plugil Scotland Scotland is taken off the air, switch to recorded music and the Scottish Television from Scotland is suspended.

The Quipic Framin building, next to the River Clyde, was engulfed for two hours after a fire alarm was raised at 06:30.

It was noticed that the fire broke out in the factory room at the roof level on the fifth floor. All staff left the building safely.

Firefighters arrived within minutes of the alarm sounding with at least seven fire engines on the scene.

The fire can be seen from the top floor of the building in the Pacific Ocean

It is a fire discovered by a security staff member who raised the alarm.

The students who are watching the fire can be seen through the window next to the Scotland Scotland sign in the south corner.
