BBC Verify: Can Donald Trump really rename the Gulf of Mexico?

Fresh from his inauguration, US president Donald Trump wasted no time in signing an executive order.

Among them there is a direction to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America”. Jake Horton asked BBC Verify, can the president do that?
