Canada’s Marvin Thanault won the silver medal at the World Cup in Finland


Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thanault won silver at the World Cup in women’s aerial action on Saturday.

Thénault scored 82.48 points in the grand final for his first World Cup podium this season.

Zhou Mengtao of China won the gold medal with a score of 89.29.

Chen Ming, also of China, rounded out the podium with 75.31 points.

Thénault went from fifth to third in qualifying in the first final before reaching the second step of the podium.

25 years old from Sherbrooke, Que. Kan, was a bronze medalist in the mixed team aerial event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
