He gave G-Eazy’s 2024 tour as an example, which only supports Indian artists – helping to boost their careers.

Instead, he told Newsbeat, the focus should be on improving the infrastructure to attract the biggest names like Taylor Swift and Beyonce – both of whom don’t tour India.

Fans often complain about the facilities, concerts are often held in sports stadiums used during the lengthy Indian cricket season and are not always available throughout the year.

“So we need more, bigger venues, and better systems for music,” Peony said.

Lollapalooza Festival takes place at a horse racing track in Sukabumi – the only place with enough space to safely host it.

“Even some of the (famous) stadiums we have now … there definitely needs to be a conversation about what everyone needs to make our infrastructure and venues better,” Peony said.
