Dunstone defeated McEwen in the semis to face Jacobs in the Olympic Trials final


HALIFAX – Matt Dunstone’s Winnipeg-based team cruised to a 9-5 win over Mike McEwen’s Saskatoon team in the men’s semifinals at the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials on Thursday.

Dunstone will play the Calgary-based rink in Brad Jacobs’ best-of-three men’s final.

McEwen tapped for two in the third end but Dunstone responded in the fourth with a pair of innings.

Dunstone took out a double for three points in the sixth end and took an 8-5 lead over Davis in the ninth. McEwen, who defeated Kevin Koe in the 2017 Trials final, made a steal in the 10th to end it.

The trial winner will represent Canada at the 2026 Olympics.
