Flames defenseman Rasmus Anderson was named the NHL’s first star of the week

Calgary defenseman Rasmus Andersson has been named the NHL’s first star of the week after helping the Flames snap their first three-game winning streak of the season.

Anderson led the NHL with nine points (two goals, seven assists) over four games.

Calgary opened the week with a 5-3 loss to Chicago before posting losses to Buffalo (6-2), Dallas (3-2, shootout) and Vancouver (5-2).

The win moved Calgary out of last place in the Western Conference and within six points of a playoff spot.

Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski had three goals and five assists over four games to claim second star honors.

San Jose forward Maclin Celebrini scored four goals, including a hat trick and two game-winners, and three assists in four games and was named the third star.
