Four killed in a strike in central Kyiv, Ukraine says

Four people were killed in a Russian airstrike in Kyiv overnight, local officials said.

The mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, said the air defense was operating around the Ukrainian capital.

Windows were broken in the Shevchenkivskyi district, including at the metro station, and fires broke out in non-residential buildings, he added. It is not clear what he is aiming for.

Authorities warned of the threat of ballistic missiles and urged local residents to seek shelter.
