Hughes scored his second goal of the game and a team-best eighth of the season to send New Jersey on its longest winning streak since 13 straight to begin the 2022–23 season.

Gritsyuk scored his second goal of the season at 9:09 of the opening period. Hughes made it 2-0 at 9:48.
Nichishkin scored his fifth goal of the season at 12:55 of the first. McKinnon then scored his seventh at 17:03 to send the teams into the first intermission tied at 2.
Minor made 20 saves in his first start this season. Scott Wedgewood has started Colorado’s other nine games with starter McKenzie Blackwood injured.
