A record number of Americans will travel this weekend, pack their bags and hit the road to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with family, friends and maybe football.
But travel this year will look different than it did 12 hours ago, according to a bevy of preliminary data, surveys and industry experts.
Chief Culpits behind the shift? More tourism; economic anxiety. tensions under geopolitics; and the six-week six-month reign that only ended a few weeks ago.
AAA projects that 81.8 million people will travel at least 50 miles during the long holiday weekend – 1.6 million more people with the associate level.
