Nets’ Cam Thomas to miss three to four weeks with hamstring strain

The Brooklyn Nets will be without their leading scorer as they try to reverse their early season fortunes.

Thomas, 24, left Wednesday’s win over the Indiana Pacers with an injury in the first quarter. He appeared to limp after attempting a step-back jump shot before pointing to the bench to exit the game.

He had only played five minutes before exiting.

For the season, Thomas is averaging 21.4 points and 2.6 assists in eight games while shooting 40.2 percent from the floor and 35.6 percent from three. He also led the Nets in scoring last season, averaging 24.0 points.

The Nets went on Wednesday to beat Indiana without Thomas for their first win of the season. Entering play on Friday, Brooklyn is locked at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 1-7 record.
