Raptors’ Jakob Poeltl out against Knicks with back injury

The Toronto Raptors will look to bounce back without their starting center.

Jakob Poeltl will miss Sunday against the New York Knicks due to management of a lower back injury, the Raptors announced.

The 30-year-old center has been battling the issue for nearly a month since leaving the game on Oct. 27 with lower back tightness. Poeltl has played in 15 of the team’s 20 games.

He appeared in Saturday’s 118-108 loss against Charlotte, posting eight points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in 32 minutes.

For the season, Poeltl is averaging 10.5 points and 8.3 assists per game while shooting 72.8 percent from the field.
