Raptors’ RJ Barrett exits vs. Nets with right knee sprain

RJ Barrett was forced to leave Toronto’s 119-109 win over the Brooklyn Nets in the third quarter with a sprained right knee. The team announced that the Canadian would not return to the game.

The Raptors announced after the game that Barrett will undergo imaging on Monday.

Barrett appeared to be suffering from the injury when he went down with just seven minutes left in the third. He walked off the floor at the next whistle and went straight to the team’s locker room.

The Mississauga, Ont., native had 20 points in 16 minutes against the Nets before having his night cut short.

Barrett came into the net game averaging 19.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 16 games this season.

He is a key piece for a Raptors team that has started the season 12-5 and won its seventh straight on Sunday.
