Hoping to make a mark in the Western Conference standings, the Golden State Warriors will have to do so without one of their top stars for a time.
Curry underwent an MRI after Wednesday’s game, and according to Charnia, he believes he has avoided any serious problems. His recovery will depend on how he responds to treatment.
He was injured late in a 104-100 loss to Houston. Curry and Rockets wing Amin Thompson went hard under the basket with 3:24 remaining in the game following a drive from Thompson to the basket.
Curry was staying in the game before being fouled with 35 seconds left in regulation, but head coach Steve Kerr said he felt his superstar guard was rattled.
He finished his night with 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the field, to go along with six rebounds, five assists and seven turnovers in 32 minutes.
“It obviously changes everything, our rotation, how we’re playing, who we’re playing, so we’ll see,” Kerr said after Wednesday’s game. “When I heard it was a quad, I was actually kind of relieved, better than an ankle or a knee, so hopefully he’ll recover quickly and be fine. But we’ve got to hold down the fort.”
The Warriors are currently 10-10 and in eighth place in the Western Conference. They are set to take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, then square off against the powerhouse Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.
