Saif Ali Khan: Man arrested for knife attack on Bollywood actor

According to the nurse’s statement, Khan and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, rushed to the room after hearing the commotion. He said the assailants attacked Khan with a blade when he confronted him, then fled the house.

Khan suffered multiple injuries – including one on the back of his neck – in the attack.

Dr Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital, where Khan was being treated, said that when the actor arrived, he was bleeding from his spine with a knife cut. The fragment was surgically removed, and the fluid leak was controlled. Doctors said that timely treatment prevents severe spinal damage.

Dr Dange said on Friday that Khan was “doing better now”.

“We made him walk, and he walked well. Looking at his parameters, his injuries and all the other injuries, he was safely moved from the ICU. He had to take some precautions. He had to rest and his movements were restricted for a week,” he said.

Mumbai Police Deputy Commissioner Dixit Gadam said the weapon used in the attack has not been found and they have registered a complaint based on the statement of the nurse.

“The accused used the fire escape ladder to enter,” he said. “The investigation will continue to determine how the door to the house was opened or how the intruder gained access.”
