It’s trying for the Pittsburgh Steelers right now, and the home fans are letting their frustrations be known.
During Sunday’s 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills that dropped the Steelers to 6-6, the home fans were not kind to Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin.
Audible chants of “Fire Tomlin” and several booing sessions could be heard echoing through Accreor Stadium.
Tomlin said he understood why fans felt that way when asked about the chants after the game.
“I share their frustration tonight. We didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality of it,” Tomlin said. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Christopher Carter after the game.
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers also said he understood why fans were upset.
“It was a stellar performance,” Rodgers told reporters after the game.
The Steelers are still tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC North lead, but patience is wearing thin in the Steel City.
Despite 18 consecutive undefeated seasons under Tomlin, the team has not won a playoff game since 2016.
Tomlin is under contract through the 2027 season.
