The Bengals won in Burrow’s comeback, taking advantage of five Ravens turnovers

BALTIMORE — Joe Burrow threw two second-half touchdown passes in a comeback for Cincinnati, and the Bengals snapped Baltimore’s five-game winning streak with a 32-14 victory on Thursday night, 14-32.

Baltimore (6-6) lost three turnovers in the first half and turned the ball over five times in the game. Although the Bengals (4-8) didn’t take full advantage of those mistakes, Burroughs and his receivers started to click in the final two quarters.

Tanner Hudson made a terrific one-handed catch in the end zone for a 14-yard touchdown, putting Cincinnati up 19-7, and after the Ravens answered with Keaton Mitchell’s 18-yard touchdown run, Burrow threw a 29-yard scoring pass to Andre Iosivas on third down.

Baltimore then drove into Bengals territory, but Lamar Jackson’s pass was intercepted by Demetrius Knight Jr. — the two-time MVP’s third turnover of the night.

The Ravens had recovered from a 1-5 start even with Pittsburgh atop the AFC North, but Baltimore didn’t look very impressive offensively in recent wins over Cleveland and the New York Jets, and that continued against a troubled Cincinnati defense.

Derrick Henry scored on an 18-yard run on Baltimore’s first possession to give the Ravens a 7-3 lead, and Jackson looked sharper late in the run. But his passing was erratic, and he looked unsure in the pocket behind an offensive line that had a rough season.

Jackson lost a fumble while being sacked, giving the ball to Cincinnati at the Baltimore 2. The Bengals came away without a point, turning the ball over on downs, but that was just the beginning of the Ravens’ problems. Isaiah likely scored on a long catch-and-run in the second quarter, but he ran just short of the goal line and the ball rolled out of the end zone, giving the ball to Cincinnati.

Later, Zay Flowers of the Ravens had a touchdown ruled out by an offensive pass interference flag, and then Jackson fumbled near the end of the half — unhitched — when he tried to hold up during a throw and the ball slipped out of his hand.

The Bengals led just 12-7 at halftime after that, and Burroughs had some fumbles of his own in his first game since Week 2, but he was sharp in the second half. Returning from a turf toe injury, Burrow went 24 for 46 for 261 yards.

Jackson was scoring 246 runs with 17 off 32 runs.

Ravens: Baltimore didn’t have CB Nate Wiggins (foot) in the second half, which likely has trouble getting off the field defensively. … LB Chandra Martin injured a knee in the first half.
