The Blue Jays placed LHP Ashton Lucas on unconditional waivers

The Blue Jays have placed the left-handed pitcher on unconditional waivers, the team announced Tuesday.

Lucas made six appearances for the Jays in 2025, including five starts. He totaled 24.1 innings with a 6.66 ERA and 1.521 WHIP. In 2024, he made two relief appearances for Toronto, striking out six earned runs in 4.2 innings.

The 29-year-old achieved some success in 2025. He did not allow an earned run in his first two outings, but then allowed a combined 14 in his next two outings.

Lucas has pitched in the majors for the Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics and Detroit Tigers.
