The Blues later terminated the contract of Alexandre Taxier

The former Blues forward cleared unconditional waivers and his contract has been terminated, the team announced on Sunday. Texier is now an unrestricted free agent.

The 26-year-old played just eight games with the Blues this season, registering one assist while playing 10:15 a night.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman noted Sunday that “all eyes are on the Montreal Canadiens” when it comes to Texier’s potential landing spot.

The St. Martin de Harris, France native recorded 91 points (40 goals, 51 assists) in 240 NHL games between the Blues and Blue Jackets.

Giorgio played two games for the AHL’s Rochester Americans, posting a 3.57 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.

The 29-year-old is set to join Spartak of the KHL. He signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with Buffalo in the offseason.
