The Steelers’ Hayward claimed the Bulls’ Allen kneed him during the loss

There doesn’t seem to be much love lost between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers.

As Buffalo put together a dominating 26-7 victory on Sunday, a subplot emerged between star quarterback Josh Allen and defensive lineman Cam Hayward.

The two jocks went back and forth throughout the game, and Hayward accused Allen of intentionally kneeing him in the stomach late in the first half.

Hayward added that the act was intentional because Allen told him he “had to do something to get you over”, as the dispute escalated.

Allen, of course, had the last laugh, as he led the Bulls to their bounce-back win by throwing a touchdown and running for another — setting a quarterback record for rushing score in the process — while his defense kept Pittsburgh at bay.

Kevin Coleman was heavily penalized after the TD pass to Hayward, as he immediately butted heads with Allen and continued to go after the QB after the game ended.

The final score ultimately showed a Buffalo victory, but that wasn’t the way it was at halftime, as the Steelers took a 7-3 lead into the break, shortly after the incident between Hayward and Allen.

Allen did not address the kneeling allegations, but he acknowledged that the controversy may have played a role in Bill’s 23-point second.

“Maybe (I have to go) a little bit,” he said. “We love the competition from this game. He’s a great player. Sometimes, you need that kind of fire to get going.”
