On Monday, the Washington police union decided to use the pardon from President Trump after releasing a fighter who attacked 150 employees on January 6. who was convicted in connection with the death of a black man.
With his pardon this week, Mr. Trump has sent a mixed message about his support for the police. He has shown that he will support them in many cases, even though prosecutors and prosecutors say they have gone too far. But his decision seems to have less to do with “supporting the blue” than with the blue supporting him.
Mr. Trump did just that when he used his influence to clear the record of around 1,600 Jan. A day later, he teased that he would soon release the virus to attack law enforcement after a 20-year-old black man, Karon Hylton-Brown, was chased in 2020. Police – leading protests in the nation’s capital.
In some ways, two-way politics are decisive. Mr. Trump was moved by the pardon that he was awarded, so he followed the move to calm down the police. But some saw with solidarity a distinct discrimination in the game, with the president celebrating with the white people on Jan 6. and with the white police in the murder of Mr. Hylton-Brown killed.
David L. Shurt, a lawyer for the family of Mr. Hylton-Brown, he said, was a true “fellowship” involved in forgiveness.
Amaala Jones-Bey, mother of 4-year-old Mr. Hylton-Brown, said the disagreement in the decision of Mr. Trump on pardons. He said:
Wednesday is not the first time Mr. Trump, military officials or lawbreakers who have been accused of violating the Act. During his first term, he gave memorials to Americans who had been convicted or accused of crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
During his time in office, Mr. Trump has used his pardon power to benefit friends and allies, something other presidents have done as well.
But at no time was it surprising that it was clear or much because he gave Millementcy to 1,600 people were arrested in connection with the attack 6 Jan. Many of the brothers wore American hats again, and at one point, they removed a national flag flying in the capitol to replace it with a flag, but not the country.
The police union is one area that supports Mr. Trump, including the command of the national police, who supported his campaign but condemned the pardon in red.
Despite condemning the Jan. 6 pardo, the Washington police union continued to defend the gamble for officer Terence Sutton and Lt. Andrew Zabavsky of the Metropolitan Police Department, said the men abused Mr. Hylton-Brown. The union argued that the men had been victimized by too many prosecutors who had done bad work that could have been discussed in training.
When he announced that he intended to release his consciousness, Mr. Trump fabricated the situation and accused Mr. Hylton-Brown, an American citizen, of being “illegal.”
“It just shows who has the power in America,” Ms Jones-Bey said. “I also feel a little caught because if he thinks he’s an illegal citizen, where is his information? Is he really paying attention?”
Mr. Sutton was charged with more than five years of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice by warrantless search. Mr. Zabavsky was sentenced to four years in prison for rebelling against Mr. Sutton to cover up the deadly police. The two did not wait for the end of their appeal.
The Washington police union celebrated the move, praising Mr Trump for implementing a “gross reform” which it called “unfair”.
Gil Kerlikowske, a former police chief in Seattle and three cities, said he believed Mr. Trump’s pardon of two DC police officers was an attempt to restore his relationship with the police after the January 6 pardons.
But he said he believed in the decision to pardon Jan.
“They said it was in the past,” Mr. Kerlikowske said. “With all the videos, it’s clear that it’s not in the past. You can bring it back.”
Daniel Hodges, who defended the capitol on Jan. 6. But he warned not to look at Mr. Trump as a friend of law enforcement.
“He’s not really a friend of the police,” he said. “He is a friend of those who flatter him.”
Mr. Hodges about discrimination that he saw on Jan. 6.
But four years later, Mr. Trump returned to Washington, and was assigned to work in the privacy, security of the president.
“This is what the people voted for,” he said of Mr. Trump. “So, it’s my job to make sure it happens safely and safely. I don’t let my personal feelings dictate how I do my job.”
