What to know about the ceasefire in Gaza



Israel and Hamas have agreed to a cease-fire agreement. For the Palestinians, the agreement offers a respite from the devastating Israeli military operation that has killed more than 45,000 people in Gaza. For the Israelis, this could allow the release of a third of the hostages held by Hamas. But the lack of agreement gives rise to persistent uncertainty.
