Which objects are recycled?

When you throw something in the recycling bin, where does it really end up?

The average person in the United States consumes nearly 5 pounds of trash every day, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Even among the small portion of garbage that is technically eligible for exemption, some materials and types of packaging are more likely to be recycled.

No matter how desirable the product is or what the label is, not every plastic container, glass jar, paper bag or cardboard box is purer.

Sawarparrot, a UK-based waste management company, uses artificial intelligence to track different recycling reports. The company analyzes more than 100 billion pieces of waste per year at recycling facilities around the world. The data show that the level can be large, even among the same network, and that not every material is accepted as eco-friendly.

The following quiz compares objects used for the same purpose. Guess which item in each pair is easier to recycle, according to Huxpiri’s findings and other reports – then read on to find out why.
